Emilia's Story
We live in Vancouver Washington and our 4 month old was diagnosed with Kawasaki. We first went in on Saturday morning and the doctor told us she had hand foot mouth. After being sent home, 6 hours later her rash got extremely worse, her eyes became red and she began to swell. We then called and went back. After being seen again they said it was hand foot mouth again and told us to go home. While leaving our daughter began violently vomiting green stuff and we went back again. By about 2 AM Sunday morning we finally had to drive ourselves to Randell Children Hospital in Portland, OR. After two days of monitoring and seeing a kidney infection and a virus, they finally determined Kawasaki and began IVIG. We are still in the hospital 10/03/19 and she is doing a bunch better but does still have a road ahead!
Misdiagnosis?
